In my work, I set out to explore relationships between emotion, memory, and real and imagined landscapes.  I draw upon images, ideas, and objects from nature and integrate them figuratively into fantasy worlds or literally as aspects of those worlds.  Sometimes the result is calming--a meditative study of motion and memory, while at others, the subtle integration of natural, painted, and manufactured objects can be unsettling.  I strive to make work that is at once visually appealing and narratively curious.  Employing quietude and simple abstraction projects a sense of intimacy that invites the viewer to make his/her own connections between what is seen and what can only be hinted at.
